Buzzing ....

Not too much stitching done in the past couple of weeks - with company here there was little time to sit down and concentrate, but I did manage to make a little progress.   The dozen bees now have all the cross-stitching finished, and I've made a start on the honeycomb in the lower left corner.  The backstitching on the bees (and the rest of the design) is called for when the honeycomb's complete.   Our visiting house guest is a beekeeper (amongst other things LOL), and she very much liked this design, commenting on how accurate the bee skep was, although of course skeps haven't been generally used for well over a century.

I also did one small band on Drawn Thread's Cloister Garden, just for a change of pace, but no photos of that one yet.

After the snow storm earlier this week, there's water sluicing down the street now, and the temperatures are warm enough for us to pull out our spring jackets - but at the same time, we'll keep our winter coats not too far away.  I've lived here long enough not to be deceived by warm temperatures in March :)

  1. Brace up, Di, lol, no need for pathos! It looks lovely but must admit the bees might tip me over the edge while I was stitching them. Would love to CG too, I have that one waiting.

    1. The bees just about tipped me over too LOL - each one of them has from 6 to 7 changes of colour, in both cross-stitches and quarter-cross - I'm just glad I'm not using a higher count of linen!

    1. Thanks :) Yes, I'm being cautious about predictions (I can't tell you how many times I've stretched too far with them), but it "might" still be do-able.

    1. Thanks, Denise - it's indeed detailed, more than I'd first realized, but I'm thoroughly enjoying the process of stitching it, now that I'm back into the rhythm of it again.

  4. You are definitely making progress!!! And it will be so lovely when it is all done. It is nice to have another piece to stitch on when you get tired of it, though, isn't it? I have to do that with the big piece I'm working on, too.

    1. For sure, Tricia - I think I might even try to stitch on an occasional Christmas ornament as a break from these larger and more complex pieces.

    1. Thanks, mouse - yes, I love the honeycomb too, and I'm just about finished with the lower section of it now, and hopefully will have the upper part stitched by the time I do my Friday update.
